Road Trip

The kids have exams next week so we're taking off for 7 days to Sikkim to pursue the Sikkimese Dream and hopefully avoid getting Acute Mountain Sickness. It just occurred to me that we'll be on the road for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, not for the commemoration of the raping and pillaging of indigenous people, but because so many people often come home and meet up. So in my absence, I hope everyone is doing well. How is the weather in Boston nowadays (or wherever you may be)?

I'll try to post some pictures of Sikkim if I have time. If not, I certainly will when I get back to K-pong.
Much love,
Matt and Jenna

Hey guys,
It has been cold and hot on any given day here in Beantown...mostly a little warm but you know how fickle the weather is here. Starting to feel more like winter. You guys will be missed on Turkey Day. Have a wonderful trip and no Pulmonary edema, please.

Matt,
Waltham is sunny and cool and yes you missed raking yiayia's leaves. That altitude stuff sounds tougher then a hangover, be careful baby boy...It all sounds incredible. Then again you could be up in VT. It is rifle season and all those knuckleheads are out there shootin' em up...I made a moose/venison stew last weekend that actually came out quite well for a flatlander. I'll stick to turkey and nana's vegetable casserole though I have a new twist on an old recipe that gets rid of the Campbell's cream of mushroom soup. I must be hungry. Just boiled up some Edamames. I think I am going to go see Walk the Line, the Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon movie about Johnny Cash and June CArter. Julie saw it last night and loved it. She is doing Thanksgiving for her friends in Rochester today and I gave her my mac and cheese recipe. Her father in law to be had a bit of an accident with a table saw. Bob Mancini managed to clip the tip of a couple of fingers on unfortunately his left hand which is his guitar fingering hand. That is really a drag. These guys and power tools. I just don't know...Those safety devices are there for a reason is my thought...I need to call them to find out. Remember Uncle Lou just lopped off part of his finger a couple of years ago with the snow blower. Silly man...Even Jonathan said, "Uncle Lou, didn't you read the instructions that say keep hands away?"

Tay sweetie,
love mom

Whoa! Thanks for the update Mom. Here at Very Good Height, no subject is taboo including severed appendages. I can't wait to see the JC movie (the real JC, not that Jesus guy). Bollywood movies are weird. Like the kinds of things you may see on Mystery Science Theater weird.

Mattie,

I checked out the avifauna and other beasts that you may have the pleasure of viewing while in Sikkim. Way cool. Himilayan beers, barking deer. I'm used to those silly white tailed types up north that taste good with a nice red wine and perhaps a chutney and smashed potatoes...Red pandas sound awfully cute too...So let me know what you see. The flora sound incredible, you KNOW how I love my flora...

Darn,I forgot I need to meet a kid!!!

be well sweetie,
mom
